Terrace Goods Review
We really enjoyed Fools Gold Pizza when we visited before lockdown, so when we heard they were changing things up after lockdown eased we were admittedly a little disappointed. That disappointment was short-lived however, the change-up for the venue changed it from a pizza restaurant into something with a little more on offer.
The first thing you notice when you come in, is that Terrace Goods offers up a really relaxed atmosphere. As the neon lights show, Fools Gold Pizza is very much still part of this place and is responsible for the pizza by the slice with Crack Chick providing the fried chicken.
An easy to read menu split up into the different sections to choose from, and I think you’ll agree it’s great value for money. Between the two of us we had the chicken tenders, the chicken sandwich and a slice of chicken & chorizo pizza each. (I have to confess I regretted not getting the tater tots as well!)
We were talked through the Crack Chicken section before ordering, apparently, the medium rating is more in line with a Nandos ‘hot’ and I’d probably agree with that, we had medium spice on the sandwich and hot on the tenders and wow…it was hot but tasty hot. If you’re a fan of fried chicken, you’ll love it and there’s no surprise that it’s good because I’m pretty sure it’s from the same people that brought us Lucky Fox (I may be wrong). The chicken is crispy on the outside and soft and tender on the inside, it really is delicious. If you can handle the heat, you need to try it.
The chicken tenders were served on a slice of thick white bread too so you can build yourself a little makeshift sandwich with a couple of the tenders.
For the pizza, I’d say it’s gotten even better than when it was Fools Gold, the chicken and chorizo option with crispy chicken skin is absolutely delicious. Serving by the slice also means you can pop in and pick up some food to walk out with if you don’t want to hang around.
Terrace Goods also has some outdoor benches (unfortunately it was raining the day we went) so you can enjoy your food out on the Orchard Square terrace.
We really enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back. Why not try them out yourself, and if you do then let us know what you think.
