Dog Friendly Peak District

In Sheffield we’re lucky to have quick and easy access to the Peak District. Just a short drive, trip on the bus or train from Sheffield City Centre and you’re into the heart of some of England’s most stunning scenery. The Peak District was the very first of the UK’s 15 National Parks and was founded in 1951. Reaching into 5 different counties (Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Cheshire, Staffordshire, and Greater Manchester) and with an estimated 20 million people living within an hour of it, the Peak District is truly one of the most accessible outdoor spaces in the country.

With it’s lush landscapes and beauty spots, it’s no surprise that the Peak District is a favoured spot for dog walkers. There are so many excellent Peak District dog walks, and the best bit is, that means there are plenty of country pubs, dog friendly tea rooms and more to be discovered in the villages and market towns that make up the National Park. Here we’re aiming to create a one-stop resource for dog owners visiting the Peak District.
