One of the wonderful things about Abbeydale Road and Nether Edge is that everywhere whether on purpose or by happy accident offers something a little different. Barrowboy handle bao buns, Broadfield handle the pies, Picture House Social has got you covered for pizza and that is just in the little area.
So when The Teller reopened under new management after lockdown it was time to see what they were going to bring to the area. The first difference was that they were skewing more toward a bar than the previous iteration of the Teller pre-Covid. Drinks offers and plenty of space inside meant that it was a great spot to visit with your dog and not be in anyone’s way. As we get back into this slightly different version of normality, they’ve added in sports screens and are getting ready to welcome a guest kitchen into the venue.
In step Slap and Pickle.
Slap and Pickle are from Leeds, but don’t hold that against them and they’re serving up ‘burgers, vibes and loaded fries’. Already you’ve got something that you don’t already have in this pocket of Abbeydale, and when you see the burgers they’re putting out, it’ll have your mouth watering. Check out some of these photos from their Instagram:
Excited yet? I know we are! If you’re not a meat-eater, don’t worry they do have vegan options available as well (the loaded fries above are their vegan duck fries)
If you’ve heard of Slap and Pickle, you may have caught them guesting down at the Heist Brewery pop ups that have been appearing in Kelham Island as of late, but we’re thrilled to see these guys with a permanent residence.
