If you’re on this website, it’s probably because you’re a dog lover, and i’d wager you’re probably from Sheffield, or at least the surrounding areas. I’ve loved creating this website and building a little community of Sheffield dog owners, there are a lot of pampered, dedicated and loyal pooches in the city, so when I heard that Sheffield-based author Helen Mort had decided to look into people’s love of adventure with their dog, it’s something that I simply had to share.
Helen Mort is an award-winning author and poet and in her latest book ‘Never Leave the Dog Behind’, spurred on by her time with her own rescue Whippet, Helen takes a closer look at our love of dogs and especially heading out into the hills with them. The book is both personal memoir, also features the tales of climbers and search and rescue dog handlers among others alongside a varied cast of dogs to fall in love with, so there’s something for all dog lovers to enjoy.
You can pick up ‘Never Leave the Dog Behind’ from Amazon [AFFILIATE]

For those interested in hearing more about the book and from the author, Helen is taking part in Sheffield’s ‘Off the Shelf’ festival, with an event at the Crucible Theatre where she’ll be speaking with Sam Cleasby from BBC Radio Sheffield.
