Dog Friendly Sheffield Awards 2020

The Results are in!

After our first full year online, Dog Friendly Sheffield wanted to celebrate all of the fantastic dog friendly establishments in and around Sheffield who, lets face it, might have had a tough year in 2020 with Coronavirus restrictions. So we challenged Sheffield dog owners to vote for their favourite dog friendly places over a number of categories including best dog friendly pub, best dog friendly cafe and more.

We firmly believe that Sheffield is the perfect place to be a dog owner. With the Peak District on our doorstep and plenty of scenic parks around the city, there’s no shortage of long walks for dogs and their owners, but beyond that Sheffield is packed full of dog friendly places as well. There are literally hundreds of dog friendly pubs, cafes, restaurants, shops, and more around the city with DogFriendlySheffield.co.uk already listing in excess of 150 different places and growing all the time.

Best Dog Friendly Pub in Sheffield

Sheffield's Favourite Dog Friendly Pub

Winner: Dog & Partridge

Unsurprisingly the race for ‘Best Dog Friendly Pub’ was a close one, with only a couple of votes separating the top four pubs, but the Dog & Partridge in Sheffield City Centre takes the crown in 2020. Traditional pubs and dog friendly have always gone hand in hand, and the Dog & Partridge is no different. You can expect a friendly welcome and a great range of ales to choose from along with one of the best pints of Guinness in the city.

For your dog there’s a good amount of space and a mixture of hardwood flooring and carpet, so there’s something to cater to even the fussiest of dogs.

Special Mention: The Royal Hotel in Dungworth & Pour in Heeley

Best Dog Friendly Cafe Sheffield

Sheffield's Favourite Dog Friendly Cafe

Winner: The Coffee Kennel, Darnall

If ever there was somewhere that both dogs and dog owners would vote for, it’d be the Coffee Kennel. Situated near High Hazels park and Tinsley Park golf club, the Coffee Kennel serves up hot drinks and treats for humans alongside puppacinos and dog treats for your four legged friends.

They’ve hosted themed events when open including puppy socialising events as well as breed specific events, so keep an eye out for your dogs next chance to strut their stuff.

Special Mention: Molly's Deli in Hillsborough & Green Bean Bistro in Todwick

Cutlery Works Dog Friendly

Sheffield's Favourite Food Hall

Winner: Cutlery Works, Kelham Island

Our only pre-picked category. We pitted Sheffield’s multiple vendor locations against each other including Peddler Market, Dyson Place, Steel Yard, Kommune, and Cutlery Works.

We’re lucky to have multiple fantastic multiple vendor venues in Sheffield. Cutlery Works has established itself as a staple of the Kelham Island scene offering up something for everyone. Making both children and dogs welcome, meaning it’s an ideal place for families. With two bars and multiple food vendors, there’s something for every taste for every occasion.

Dog Friendly Beer Garden Sheffield

Sheffield's Favourite Dog Friendly Beer Garden

Winner: The Brothers Arms

The Brother’s Arms in Heeley isn’t just a fantastic pub, it’s spacious beer garden makes it the perfect spot for a day time drink during the summer. The pub’s position on a hill gives it great views over the city.

Special Mention: Gardeners Rest, Kelham Island & The Broadfield, Abbeydale Road
